Monash University / Chancellery Decant

Monash University Chancellery Decant Project

Monash University Chancellery Decant Project

We have been engaged to undertake this major decant project for Monash University. This project is required to relocate approximately 220 high level executive university staff including the Vice Chancellor. This project required our team to undertake numerous mapping and planning exercises across 7 university buildings. This aided the university in their understanding of the multitude of different possible options and opportunities and their associated costs. We worked closely with the university executive in developing these planning options, where clear communication, efficient planning and diligence was of the utmost importance. We have investigated options for staff accommodation, car parking analysis, building mass studies, sun shadow studies and executive meeting spaces. We have undertaken existing conditions audit of all 7 buildings, including existing furniture and structural analysis. The total area of our investigations was over 7,500m2. Designing a new home for a Vice Chancellor and her staff is a rare opportunity and the highest quality design outcome is the only option.

Stage: Completed in September 2017
