Amanda Chan has a Master of Architecture from RMIT and a Bachelor of Design in Architecture from the University of Sydney.

Throughout her studies, she was particularly interested in designing buildings through understanding its local site as well as its wider context. She developed multi-faceted designs through researching and layering the history, the culture and other special qualities into the design. Amanda translated the research into conceptual ideas which was then translated into building form and materials.

Having worked in local and international Architectural practices, Amanda has an array of experiences and design skills. She has worked on Commercial, Aged Care, Health, and University projects. Some of her projects have included the Baillieu Library Refurbishment Stage 1 & 2, Japara Significant Refurbishments, and Vision Eye Rivercity (Brisbane).

Throughout these projects, Amanda has produced design concepts with material finishes, material boards, and documentations. She has also coordinated with a variety of consultants, managed and selected FF&E, and attended site meetings, User Groups, and PCG’s. She has been the primary point of contact throughout the Contract Administration for Baillieu LIbrary Stage 2.

Amanda is particulary interested in design through 3D modelling. She has worked on a large variiety of projects where materials and forms have been modelled in computer space, tested and presented to clients.
Amanda’s high-level computer graphics skills has also been a great addition to the team, having created graphic images for printing such as for glazing films, hoarding images, NTC Architects’ Practice Profiles and other promotional materials. She takes pride in all outgoing presentations, ensuring all works are to a high-standard.
